Cantamaggio Festival in Terni
Terni. The origins of the Cantamaggio folk festival of Terni, held each year during the month of May, date back to pre-Christian times and was originally a fertility festival to celebrate the arrival of spring. The culminating moment of today's festival is the procession of allegorical floats.
